Welcome message from the CEO

Dear business partners and friends,

It is my pleasure to welcome you to the corporate website of SIM (Service in Motion).

The story of SIM is exceptional and inspiring. It is of two separate companies, which despite the countless challenges of operating in Iraq, have decisively and strategically combined their resources to be one entity, based on a common belief in the future prosperity of the country.

An independent and unique corporate entity focused on the development of Iraq’s telecommunication industry, SIM was established in October 2011. It is a joint venture between Shabakkat Operations LLC and Middle East Telecommunications Company (METCO), two telecom service companies that have been successfully operating across Iraq since the launch of mobile telecom services in 2003.

Both recognized the many benefits and efficiency of merging their operations and leveraging their capabilities and experience to provide all round world-class services to wireless and fixed telecom operators, all under one roof.

Historically, the two companies have been serving Zain Iraq, the largest mobile operator in the country with a presence across all regions. Going forward, and as a result of this merger, SIM will now be in a prime position to extend its service offerings to other telecom providers in Iraq.

This new entity, the largest of its type in Iraq, draws upon the human capital of over 800 highly-skilled people who work closely with SIM in either a direct or indirect capacity as subcontractors, service providers, and other 3rd parties that SIM outsources work to. They are all predominantly Iraqi nationals – mostly civil, mechanical and telecom engineers, as well as experienced support personnel with a wide range of skill sets. They are all crucial to our success and we will continue to invest in and support their development.

Through SIM’s brand promise of “Empowering the Telecommunications Industry in Iraq”, whether it be end-to-end managed services, multi-vendor network support, site support or network monitoring, the company offers a unique value proposition to Iraqi telecom operators with tailor made solutions that are flexible and scalable, all under one umbrella.

We firmly believe that, with SIM providing the assurance of delivering on contracted projects through optimal network service offerings, telecom operators will be better able to focus on customer-centric marketing and financial-generative activities that will improve their bottom line as well as enhance their brand. Optimizing the overall return to stakeholders is our goal.

Since 2003, our two companies have contributed to the economic and social development of Iraq. Now, as one new entity, we will spare no effort in continuing this role in a country full of promise.

We firmly believe in the future of Iraq and SIM is the manifestation of that belief.

Finally I would like to thank you for visiting the SIM website and wholeheartedly invite you to email us with any comments and suggestions.
